A Look Back

Happy 2013! I know it's a little late, but here's an assortment of my favorite pictures from 2012. I'm glad I got to make this blog a reality this year. Looking back at these photos inspires me to work harder in the new year. A lot happened in 2012--I started this blog, I finished my first year of college, I switched majors and career paths, I made some new friends and lost some old ones, read many books, and learned a lot about myself and what I desire in life. I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2013.

Diamonds

(Forever jacket, top, and sandals, H&M pants, Alloy bag)

I wore this outfit to dinner with my family on Christmas Eve. I’ve had these printed pants for a while but haven’t had a chance to wear them. I love the unique diamond print—they add a special touch to a neutral outfit.

Stripes and Denim

(Forever 21 sweater and denim jacket, H&M trousers, Zara sandals)

I apologize for the lack of posts since summer. I underestimated the amount of work this semester would entail, as I took several challenging classes for my major in statistics. I've made several important changes in my life this semester, and hopefully, I'll be able to dedicate more time to my blog in the coming year.

I’ve been looking for a simple black and white sweater for a while, and I finally found one I liked at Forever 21 the other day. I love the thin stripes and the 3/4 sleeves—perfect for layering in the winter. Kept it casual with a light denim jacket and trousers and added a touch of femininity with those quintessential Zara heels.

Red Flames

(sheer top from Lush Clothing, bandage skirt from H&M, Mossimo 'Kaelyn' boots)

Thrifted this lovely sheer top when I went back to Berkeley last week for an interview. Recently I've been obsessed with taupe boots, and the Mossimo 'Kaelyn' boot is just perfectaffordable, comfortable, and adorable. I wore this on my last lunch date with the bestie before she went back to the East Coast. It looks like I'm wearing this sheer top over a bodycon dress, but it's really just a cami and a bandage skirt (though I was thinking of layering this top over one of my bodycon dresses...maybe another time). Lately, my style has been all about staying comfortable and cool in the hot California weather. I shouldn't be complaining, though, since NorCal pretty much has the best weather ever.

Arm Candy

I've been lusting over watches for a while but didn't decide to splurge on one until two weeks ago. I was debating over the Jet Set Sport or the Slim Runway, but I'm glad that I chose this one because it's already huge on my wrist at 32 mm (the Slim Runway is 42 mm!). I pretty much love all Michael Kors watches, but I decided to get a timeless boyfriend watch that wouldn't overwhelm my small wrist. It's gorgeous and I can't wait to get it sized tomorrow.

On another note, I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog for two weeks! It's been hectic with finals for summer classes, interviews, and goodbyes to friends who attend school on the East Coast. New outfit post tomorrow!

Plaid and Lace

(plaid shirt from Ralph Lauren, t-shirt from Banana Republic, lace shorts from Iris Basic, booties from Go Jane)

Plaid and lace, two patterns/textures that I never thought I'd put together in the same outfit. But I suppose I'm trying to go out of my comfort zone, so this is one of my first attempts. Wore this when it was ridiculously hot and I couldn't bother to get dressed up. Solution? Put on a thin t-shirt and layer a flannel shirt over it. I guess that's my outfit of choice when I'm lazy and it's 90 degrees outside.

I Just Gravite Towards You

(blouse and lace shorts from Forever 21, knotted cork sandals from Payless)

I wore this to a dinner date after class this past week. Pho and Indian ice cream (decided to go and try thandai), so delicious. This is one of my default, no-fuss outfitsbutton-up shirt, shorts, and sandals. I'm going shopping for the first time in a while next week with my bestie, and I can't wait to buy millions of button-up shirts in every color.

Can't believe I only have two more weeks of classes and four more weeks until the fall semester begins.  I still have so many things to do on my summer bucket list.
